Spinal & Epidural Education
For patients undergoing Regional Blocks or Ceasarian Sections.
An hour introduction to current practices in spinal & epidural procedures.
Learners familiarise themselves with the procedure and have the opportunity to practice on their colleagues.
Rapid Sequence Induction Simulation
For patients at risk of aspiration and require immediate intubation.
Learners were given the opportunity to practise and demonstrate their ability to assist an anaesthetist during a code-critical RSI procedure. This was following by a debrief based on the PEARLS framework.
PACU Delay Project Education
A project initiated to decrease wait times within the recovery unit.
Tessler (1999) & Jenkins (2007) explore the experience of patient post operative delays. My unit's initiative is to document these delays and provide recommendations.
